Vision and Purpose

VISION STATEMENT:

We envision a community free from intimate partner violence.

We recognize that intimate partner violence is a gendered issue and addressing it requires intersectional approaches and addressing the systemic causes of gender based-violence.

We envision a community that values diversity, shared responsibility and collaboration that responds and empowers persons who experience intimate partner violence in an effective, respectful and compassionate manner.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

The District of Parry Sound “Violence Against Women Coordinating Committee” (DPSVAWCC) through collaboration, leadership and action will work towards addressing intimate partner violence with intersectional, anti-oppressive, proactive and effective responses in the District of Parry Sound.
